      ( 9:53 AM ) Jayme
yesterday was a very bad day... (long story, skip first paragraph to get to the good stuff.)

that ended relatively well. thursday evening, i figured i'd drop by The Good Cup to hang out with some knitters. saw three patrons and a dog. left. started itching on the way back. really really itching. got home, showered in case it was something i touched. woke up yesterday feeling a bit better. it was raining. i like rain, but there's no room on the buses when it rains. decided to leave early and walk. rain and wind break my umbrella in no less than 4 places. my jeans are completely drenched. so i decided to stop by work and borrow my boss' spare umbrella. i'd return it when i actually worked in the afternoon. turns out my boss couldn't even get to work that morning because of the storming. (supposedly, no one from lompoc could make it to campus.) so i call her up on her cell phone to borrow her umbrella and see if there's anything we should do since she's gone. so i check her email and cancel her appointments. can't feel my legs. two classes and lunch (would normally be another class, but it wasn't meeting this week). two more classes, then work. the girls at work tell me i look really bad. so carla asked if i've eaten fish or dyed my hair. nope. bob came by and asked if i've dyed any fish or eaten any hair. nope. at this point, i'm itching all over my arms and i still can't feel my legs in the wet jeans. they try to distract me with tea. they let me keep my hands occupied with knitting clapotis. still itchy. closing time. chris picks me up and takes me to rite aide. got some antihistamines. get home. shower, realize that the hives are on my legs too. ugh. anti-itch stuff on arms and legs. dinner. benadryl. [good news goes here] sleep from 730-1230. hives worse on legs. benadryl. sleep from 1-8. satuday morning cartoons are reruns. so now i'm watching food network. hives are mostly gone and i have no idea what caused them. now i am also well-moisturized and well-rested.

so i was checking blogs last night, and read at JenLa that i'm one of La's contest winners -- yay! she reminded me that stitches west is in a month. anyone still want to go visit thuy?

went to borders on tuesday, picked up the winter spin-off and spinning designer yarns with the gift card i got for christmas. wouldn't have gotten the book otherwise; it's a small book for $16.95. it's got lots of information on things i've been wanting to try.

i'll be in the office from 830-1700 tomorrow (yes, sunday). i've got some things to catch up on, plus a film studies group wants to use one of our studios as a soundstage. if it wasn't going to rain, i would consider bringing my spinning wheel. anyone want to stop by and knit, let me know! i'm thinking some movies (yay for working at television services) and knitting, with breaks to do some genetics homework. look for another blog post then.

I do my thing and you do your thing
I am not in this world to
live up to your expectations,
and you are not in this world to
live up to mine.
You are you
and I am I
and if by chance we find each other,
it's beautiful.
