      ( 1:53 AM ) Jayme
two evenings of (selfish) knitting and i now own a pair of mittenettes in a fabulous alpaca/angora blend. they're a little bigger than they should be, since i used 8s instead of 7s and a slightly loftier yarn, but they're snuggly and i can stick the rest of my fingers in there while i wait for the bus. my boss likes to steal them on cold days when typing.

restful weekend. spent most of it going through some stash and catching pokemon in the safari zone. started nakiska from knitty, in the called-for yarn (but in red). i bought a ball of classic elite lush a while back to pet, i mean, try. started looking for a nice lace pattern for the multicolored laceweight from ebay. (nb: dig out shawls and stoles book and peruse patterns) didn't have a chance to snag chris' digital camera. i really should be working on crystal's scarf (and i do), but the thing i've noticed with scarves is that they never look like they're growing long enough, fast enough. sometimes i need a little instant gratification.

so i leave you all with some comic strips about knitting. i won't be at knitting tomorrow night -- i've got a review session for my last midterm of the quarter, but i can make it on thursday this week once i figure out how i'm getting there.

I do my thing and you do your thing
I am not in this world to
live up to your expectations,
and you are not in this world to
live up to mine.
You are you
and I am I
and if by chance we find each other,
it's beautiful.
