Experiments in Tangible Geometry... & other things

      ( 4:39 PM ) Jayme
(one more hour... i just need to survive one more hour. head aches. i think i want a nap.)

helped chauntel, tracy and erin sew up squares for the charity blanket that our knitting group has worked on. that was fun. and i was only 10 minutes late to work. matters even less today, boss and boss' boss aren't here, just a p/d and the tv engineer. oh, and kris might be in back working, but technically he belongs to media. so technically, i don't answer to anyone else that is here right now...

chauntel and tracy like my silk yarn, so i'll keep going with all three colors, i just need to pre-draft lots of the dyed colors. i'll also make a conscious effort to spin something thicker than sock weight (my default spinning for the longest time).

i shouldn't try to start too much this week. i've got rogue on the needles and the flower basket shawl is on hold. i need to make chris a new hat since the other one is too short. i'm planning to swatch for the hourglass sweater in cotton-ease i got 6 months ago with a gift card to michael's. i forgot about it until i was looking in my armoire-thingy the other day. by swatch, i mean start a sleeve and see if i like it.

projects that i sent home with chris:
second regia sock in provence
christmas stockings
chris' hat

things i'm bringing home with me:
rogue (finished pocket, working on body)
blizzard (from scarf style)
?? sleeve-shaped swatch for the hourglass sweater
?? scarf for crystal
?? yarn from handpaintedyarn.com if it shows up before saturday morning

seems like a lot for only 2 weeks of vacation, but none of it has a deadline and most of it is for me. i'm trying to avoid new projects, really i am. and bringing along a variety will keep me from getting too bored...

might go home and nap. the pain reliever i took earlier isn't helping much. of course this could just be a precursor to the rest of this week's discomfort. if so, then there will be no pilates tomorrow and i'll be at meetup for sure.

blather, blather...

forgot to borrow the fiery cross from chauntel. was in a hurry to get to work.

oh and i unknowingly lied about my handpaintedyarn.com order. i'm getting (hopefully) 3 skeins of little lovely merino worsted, 3 skeins of dusty (or was it dusky?) merino worsted and roving in date palm.

sleepy, sleepy...

only 30 mins left, and i can start closing in 20. my brain feels fogged up or fuzzy. i suppose i should call my boss and ask what time she wants me in tomorrow, if at all, since there's a videoconference tomorrow at 6 AM. whee...

I do my thing and you do your thing
I am not in this world to
live up to your expectations,
and you are not in this world to
live up to mine.
You are you
and I am I
and if by chance we find each other,
it's beautiful.
