Experiments in Tangible Geometry... & other things

      ( 9:56 PM ) Jayme
been busy with school. most classes are semi-conducive to knitting, space permitting. saturday i finished my first rogue sleeve. not so bad. cast on for the second one yesterday. sadly, i think my twisted stockinette stitch is too tight on the first sleeve. this time around isn't turning out as tight, which is good because i'll have a bit more ease to sew it into the rest of the sleeve. so i'm debating either tightening what i've got now to make it match, reknitting that hem facing on the first sleeve to make it looser, or leaving it as is as a reminder/design element. picked up the wedding piece again... it's not as open as i wanted it to be, but i'm not looking forward to ripping it out. i think i'll finish it and see how well it blocks out.

oh i bound off my sock and found it a little short. well, not too short, but not sure if i like it that way. so it's sitting there til i try it on again and see if i like the length.

went to solvang on saturday. got cute things for my secret knitting pal, i should send those out in the next two days. i love the village spinning and weaving shop. i don't go in that often but they still remember me and my name and the friends that go with me. got barbara walker's second treasury of knitting patterns, a cone of wool/alpaca blend and some roving dyed in colors of the rainbow for me.

speaking of pals, i forgot to mention that sandy did tell me about mine! well kinda. thank you for thinking of me! your package isn't here, but the thought counts.

back to the academic reading...

I do my thing and you do your thing
I am not in this world to
live up to your expectations,
and you are not in this world to
live up to mine.
You are you
and I am I
and if by chance we find each other,
it's beautiful.
