Wednesday, March 17, 2004 ( 5:05 PM ) Jayme on rogue, i've got the sleeve chart done and am working on the rest of the sleeve increases. that is about as complicated as i'm prepared to knit for right now, with finals going on and papers and powerpoint presentations on failed research. silly me, why didn't i bring it to my group's attention that Lottia gigantea is tolerant of temperature changes. oh well. live and learn. the point of the experiments was not to obtain results so much as just do them. should probably start thinking of spring break knitting. maybe some pretty socks for the traveling. maybe i'll bring some rogue yarn so i can finish the sleeve and knit up the other one. relatively simple knitting to relax with. the lace wedding project can wait til after my brain is done resting. oh! rogue yarn = galway in a light blue from wool needlework. super fast service. i had originally ordered mission falls 1824 in thyme from ram wools, but that was on back order, so i ordered more yarn while waiting. normally i don't ever have enough money lying around to order enough for a sweater, let alone two. i knew the mission falls would be soft enough for my super sensitive skin, but i was taking a chance on the galway. anyway, the funds for those came in the form of a sort of holiday bonus i earned, since i stuck around for a week of my winter vacation to work for a different department than usual at a higher wage. (my supervsior there invited me back to work there for spring break, but i haven't seen my family in three months, so i'm going home.) anyway, that week of full time work was on the february paycheck (we get paid monthy) so i decided to splurge. wedding project is in harrisville shetland that i picked up in solvang (village spinning and weaving store, i love them). on size 6 needles right now. cleo is in a burgundy cotton tape yarn that i got for $2/ball. i think it was anny blatt. if i do knit socks, it will probably be from regia in either provence or clown. i do have some cherry tree hill supersock, but it may become something other than socks. well, that should be enough procrastinating for today. back to the school drudgery. # |
