i think i lost my free trial picture trail acct. so i have to find somewhere else where i can post pictures.

learned to spin on dec. 5 from kathy, who i met from spindlers. been practicing on and off since then. learned to get it pretty thin, but now i'm working on making it thicker and more consistent so that i can andean ply (the only way i know and i don't have the patience to wind it and ply it with something else) it and it'll be thick enough to use for something other than lace. and so far it's contagious -- i've taught my friend Lori, and my two sisters. one sister was more enthused that the other. right now she's got my 1 oz ashford spindle and a good amt of the wool i got as a birthday present from kathy.

speaking of spindles... i got three for xmas! not bad for someone just starting. chris got me the sm (1 oz) and the lg (3 oz) ashford spindles and our friend jay gave me a midi bossie in purpleheart, among other things.

finished a woolease t&q hat for jasmine, and started an attempt at toe up socks, well i suppose they'll be xmas stockings since i'm using cascade 220 in red, green and white and sz 8 dpns for my attempt. with luck i'll get several done for next xmas.

I do my thing and you do your thing
I am not in this world to
live up to your expectations,
and you are not in this world to
live up to mine.
You are you
and I am I
and if by chance we find each other,
it's beautiful.
